Marketing Charts submits: Ford Motor Company (F) vehicles accounted for six of the top 10 autos for customer brand loyalty in the US according to a Q209 auto-industry analysis from Experian Automotive. According to the quarterly study, Ford Fusion (62.4%), Ford Edge (57.9%) and Ford Five-Hundred (56%) had the highest percentages of owners who returned to buy a Ford vehicle, while the Ford Freestyle (51.9%) was fifth, the Ford Escape (49.4%) ranked seventh, and the Ford Focus (47.57%) placed ninth.Complete Story » seekingalpha.com |
Tenneco: Earnings Preview
Zacks.com submits: Tenneco (TEN) is scheduled to release its sales and earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year 2009 before the market opens on Thursday, Feb 4, 2010. The Lake Forest, Illinois-based manufacturer and supplier of emission control and ride control systems showed an improvement in third quarter profit to $3 million or 7 cents per share, compared to less than $1 million or a penny per share a year ago. Earnings was better than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 4 cents per share for the quarter. February Auto Sales: In Like a Lion
Wall Street Strategies submits:By David SilverSo far General Motors (GMGMQ.PK) and Ford (F) have reported auto sales for February and, in my mind, the biggest winner has been General Motors. It announced this morning a 1.3 million vehicle recall, but that shouldn't spoil the party for a great month. The company reported that sales during the month improved 11.5% year over year, but that includes Pontiac, Hummer, Saturn and Saab, which in total sold only 3,102 units compared to 22,303 units sold in February of 2009. Only looking at the core four brands of Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC, sales improved 32.2% year over year as the concentrated marketing spend as well as new releases are beginning to pay dividends for the company.Complete Story » seekingalpha.com |

While we are hostage to a "student body left" trading environment (risk on, risk off!), when the market is relatively stable we can see which stocks act well on their own. This morning the company received an upgrade as signs of discretionary spending due to large scale mortgage non payments by Americans economic recovery take hold.
