What If We Invested $680 Billion in Infrastructure?
Ryan Avent submits: What if for one year — just one year — we allocated as much money for infrastructure as we did for defense? What if? Well, this year, that would mean devoting $680 billion to investments in infrastructure. That’s more than $200 billion more than Oberstar’s entire proposed transportation reauthorization bill, which was itself a large increase over the previous transportation law. Tenneco: Earnings Preview
Zacks.com submits: Tenneco (TEN) is scheduled to release its sales and earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year 2009 before the market opens on Thursday, Feb 4, 2010. The Lake Forest, Illinois-based manufacturer and supplier of emission control and ride control systems showed an improvement in third quarter profit to $3 million or 7 cents per share, compared to less than $1 million or a penny per share a year ago. Earnings was better than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 4 cents per share for the quarter. Polaris Industries Gets an Upgrade
Trader Mark submits:Recent portfolio addition Polaris Industries (PII) continues to act very well. While we are hostage to a "student body left" trading environment (risk on, risk off!), when the market is relatively stable we can see which stocks act well on their own. This morning the company received an upgrade as signs of discretionary spending due to large scale mortgage non payments by Americans economic recovery take hold. Boeing to Delay Delivery of Commercial Jet
