Increased Volume Boosts Union Pacific
Zacks.com submits: Union Pacific Corp.’s (UNP) first-quarter earnings of $1.01 per share were ahead of the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 95 cents. This also compares favorably with earnings of 72 cents in the prior-year quarter.The results for the reported quarter primarily benefited from increased operating revenues due to growth in business volumes. Stable Customer Satisfaction Index, core pricing gains and strong cash from operations were also among the positives. Earnings Preview: Harley-Davidson
theflyonthewall.com submits: Harley-Davidson (HOG) is expected to report Q3 earnings before the market open on Tuesday, October 19 with a conference call scheduled for 9 am ET. GuidanceAnalysts are looking for a profit of 36c on revenue of $1.1B. The consensus range is 23c-46c for EPS, and revenue of $1.03B-$1.14B, according to First Call. UBS said Harley-Davidson's U.S. retail sales likely declined in September, but not as much as industry declines.
