theflyonthewall.com submits: Ford (F) is expected to report Q1 earnings Tuesday, April 27 before the market open with a conference call scheduled for 9 am ET. GuidanceAnalysts are looking for EPS of 31c on revenue of $30.49B. The consensus range is 20c-37c for EPS, and $27.5B-$32.76B for revenue, according to First Call. Factors that may help Ford in Q1 include Toyota's (TM) massive recall and improving sales metrics, with the car giant reporting March total sales up 39.8%. Ford gained 2.7% points of market share in the first three months of 2010 in the U.S., Fields says, noting that the company's intent is to be profitable this year in North America in automotive and "profitable as a company." Lockheed Martin Reeling From Retrenchment in Q3
Zacks.com submits: Lockheed Martin Corporation’s (LMT) third quarter 2010 earnings came in at $1.57, a penny shorter than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.58 and way below the year-ago quarterly earnings of $2.07. However, reported quarter’s results were affected by a one-time charge of $178 million related to the VESP (Voluntary Executive Separation Program). Through VESP the company retrenched approximately 600 executives, or about 25% of its total executive population. Although effects of the retrenchment program would prove to be beneficial to the company over the long-term, it has to absorb the near-term bumps in earnings. In contrast, year-ago quarterly earnings were boosted by an unusual tax benefit from the resolution of an IRS examination, which increased earnings by $58 million.Complete Story » seekingalpha.com |
